Important Course Information

Still not sure what this course is all about? Here are a few more details, including some thoughts on what we think it will take to make this training a success.

Program Flow & Time Commitment

During this five-week course, you will be introduced to a new positive principle each week. The online time required during the week is about 45 minutes. During this time you will watch videos, read case studies or articles, and do a reflection exercise. The final thing we ask you to do is offline. We ask you to come up with your own experiment based on what you learned and apply it. The experiment is perhaps the most important part of the week, so we suggest you try to finish the online portion early. That leaves you enough time during the week for application.

Part Two

There are nine important principles that each play a role in creating a positive and successful organization. In this course, we introduce the first five principles. Dividing the content into two courses allows people the time to fully digest the principles and take time to apply them without feeling overwhelmed. When ready, we suggest you come back for the second half of the principles in our next course.

Team up!

We recognize that this isn’t always an option, but signing up with a partner or team is a great way to accelerate your learning. It gives you an additional way to reflect on what you learned, share insights, learn from each other’s experiments, and hold each other accountable.

A Final Word

The ultimate truth in training is this: you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. The result ultimately depends on you, and your commitment to the process. Growth and development will happen when you show up with an open mind and follow the recommended process.

Additional Resources

Make your training even more effective by adding one of these two options.

Option 1:  Online Group Facilitation

Got a group of 20-30 people in your company going through this program? Add a weekly Zoom meeting guided by one of our Lift Consultants.  We will facilitate group discussion, smaller breakouts,  and answer questions from that weeks' principle.

Or hire a Lift Consultant to hold a pre and post session.

Option 2:  Positive Leadership Circles

Organize a group of 5 high potentials or executives who have experienced one or more of Lift’s online courses to join a small coaching group guided by a Lift Consultant.  The participants will share real opportunities and challenges they are dealing with and then the group will coach each other, considering how to apply Positive Leadership concepts to their situations.

Testimonials

Director of Operations

by Beth Farrell

I loved this training. I thought it was such a great approach for getting people the basics on Positive Leadership principles in an easy way. I actually plan on recommending this for any new staff to Advancement! And will be sharing it with my colleagues in the development office talent management team.
